The Governor’s Cup Road Race will partner with several running groups to train for our 2017 events. Fleet Feet Sports, Strictly Running , and Riverland Hills Baptist Church are our first groups to commit. Check back for additions.
Strictly Running, Columbia, SC. On February 5, 2017, Strictly Running will begin a half-marathon training group for all ages and abilities. It is a Sixteen week training group aimed at preparing runners of all experience levels and any starting distance. The group will meet on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, and the training will focus on the 2017 Governor’s Cup Road Race on May 20, but we will prepare you for any race you choose during the training period. John Zemp will be your USATF certified coach. You receive weekly training plans, 2 groups workouts per week, open access to the coach via email or text, 15% off at Strictly Running during the training period, and more. Fleet Feet Sports Columbia has several training groups to help runners of all abilities train for Governor's Cup Events. The Fleet Feet Training Programs are sponsored by major vendors such as Brooks, Saucony, and New Balance and have been in place for a decade in the Columbia area. Our coaches have backgrounds in exercise science, health and nutrition, and physical therapy and are there to help everyone reach their goals.
5k and Half Marathon Training Program:
The 5k program is a twelve-week programs that help newer runners prepare for their first 5k or improve their 5k time.
The half marathon program is also a twelve-week program that helps runners prepare for their first half marathon or improve their half marathon time.
Governor’s Cup Training Program:
March 7th – May 27th [11 weeks to Governor’s Cup, May 20th / 12 weeks to Jail Break, May 27th]

Riverland Hills Baptist Church, Irmo, SC. A Run for God Half-Marathon training program will run February 12 through May 20. Designed for the experienced runner who can already complete a long run of 7 to 8 miles. $70 includes race entry fee and Run for God technical T-shirt.
